Congratulations to our NSAA Champions for Coaches award recipient for Play Production, Sheila Hoesing. The Champions for Coaches are recognized for going the extra mile for their schools and communities, making a lasting impact on students across Nebraska.
Sheila will be honored at halftime of the Boys Basketball Championship on March 14 in Lincoln.
Mrs. Hoesing has coached for 19 years. She has helped Wausa Public Schools win 19 district championships, 16 state championships, and has impacted hundreds of students lives through her talent and passion/drive to ensure they succeed at the highest levels.
Congratulations Mrs. Hoesing from all of us at Wausa Public Schools!

Due to wind/snow, the Wausa speech meet will be delayed one hour tomorrow. Start time will now be at 9:00 AM.

Good evening, Wausa Public School families. We want to address the recent news regarding the cyber intrusion into PowerSchool accounts across several districts, including ours. We understand your concerns and want to provide you with the most accurate and reassuring information possible.
Recently, a cyberattack targeted PowerSchool, the student information system used by almost every public school in the state of Nebraska. This breach may have involved access to some student and staff records.
According to their investigation, names and addresses of students and staff may have been accessed. However, we want to emphasize that Wausa Public School current policy does not include Social Security numbers or other sensitive financial information in our PowerSchool records.
Our Response:
1. We are working closely with PowerSchool and cybersecurity professionals to secure our systems.
2. Powerschool is currently sending out emails to individuals affected (which they are legally obligated to do) allowing you two full years of free cyber protection. This is totally up to you, however, we as a district would highly recommend using any free resources to protect you and your family.
What You Can Do:
• Monitor any communication or mail for unusual activity.
• Feel free to contact our office with any concerns or questions.
We take the security of our students' and staff members' information very seriously. Thank you for your understanding and trust as we navigate this situation. We are committed to keeping you informed every step of the way.
Thank you, and please reach out if you need additional support or information.
If you did not receive an email, please disregard this message.

Students on the varsity boys' and girls' basketball teams and tournament workers are exempt from paying admission because they participate in the tournament.
The cost is $6.00 for Adults and $5.00 for school-aged students.

Congratulations to Jessica, Carlie and Braydon on being selected for the Wayne State College Honor Choir!! Concert today at 4:00pm!
