Wausa High School will host a blood drive this Tuesday, October 22 from 11:30am to 2:30pm.
Blood donation is a lifesaving act, and we need your support more than ever. High school and college students have traditionally made up 20% of blood donors. Unfortunately, that number has dropped dramatically over the past five years, putting a significant strain on our local blood supply. Many school-based drives were also canceled during COVID-19, causing further challenges.
With your help, we can reverse this trend and inspire your students to become lifelong donors. Last year, we collected 33 units of lifesaving blood at our school, and this year, we’re aiming for 40 units. Reaching this goal can only happen if we come together. Our school already has a fantastic team working hard on this drive, including our own Joe Pfanstiel. His dedication has been invaluable, and we’re grateful for your continued support in allowing him the time to champion this cause.
As the sole provider of blood products to Providence Medical Center and Avera Sacred Heart, Lifeserve Blood Center is committed to ensuring that patients receive this irreplaceable resource when they need it most. A successful drive at our school not only impacts our community today but helps create a culture of service and responsibility among your students that lasts a lifetime.
Thank you for considering lending your voice to this effort. If you can encourage your students and community to spread the word and participate, it would go a long way in helping us meet this crucial need and our school goal.
We know your time is valuable, and we hope you’ll also consider stopping by and joining us at the drive. Every donation makes a difference!
